Mark Thomas is an internationally acclaimed soloist, recording artist, and teacher of flute. His diverse talents and high personal worldwide visibility have earned him the moniker, Mr Flute.  His desire to provide a forum for all flutists, whether amateur or professional, led him to create The National Flute Association (1972), now the largest organization of its kind in the world.  As Founder and Honorary Life President, he continues to contribute his talents.

A master teacher, Thomas has served on the artist faculties of numerous prestigious universities, and many of his former students are currently members of major symphony orchestras and university faculties in the US and Canada.  In addition, he is an authority on flute design, having served as design consultant to several leading flute manufacturers.

Since his retirement from university teaching and touring, Mr. Thomas maintains a private flute studio in Charlotte, NC.  He is currently accepting students from intermediate to professional level.
